Chief Gardner spoke to us today regarding the Accreditation that the department achieved. What is Accreditation? The Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association introduced the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Program to the Commonwealth in July 2001. Since then, over 375 agencies have enrolled and 126 agencies currently have attained accredited status. Accreditation is a progressive and time-proven way of helping institutions evaluate and improve their overall performance. This award symbolizes professionalism, excellence and competence. There are over 1000 law enforcement agencies in PA . This is not an easy process and we are proud of our Police Department for attaining such an honor.
