🎉 Congratulations to the 2026 Hatboro Rotary Scholarship winners!

🎓Lilee Ziegler, our Vo-Tech Scholarship recipient, earned this honor through her dual enrollment at Eastern Tech and Hatboro-Horsham High School.  Lilee plans to study nursing at IUP this fall— future patients are lucky to have her!

🎓Colin Daly, our Four-Year Scholarship recipient, is a Hatboro-Horsham High School scholar and will be attending Brown University this fall.   He plans to study biology on the pre-med track.  We can’t wait to see where his journey takes him!

The York Road Bridge Murals Are Taking Shape!

A huge shoutout to the talented students from the Hatboro-Horsham High School National Art Honor Society (NAHS), who have put in the work as part of their service activity!  These amazing young artists tackled the primer and painted the background, laying the foundation for something truly special. 🙌  Thanks to HHHS art teacher and NAHS sponsor, Mrs. Ellert-Micikas for all of her work organizing and collaborating with the artists.  

Artist Sarah Fogg is adding her signature details work to bring the full vision to life.  This is community art at its best—students and professionals, side by side, making Hatboro more beautiful. ✨

Thank You President Barbara!
Our club could not be more honored and proud to thank our immediate past president, Barbara Rudaevych for graciously leading out Rotary Club of Hatboro for not just the past year, but almost two full years! Barbara's enthusiasm and energy has brought such a special unity to our club and we cannot begin express how valuable her membership and commitment to our club has been.
 
Barbara has led several initiatives over her term as president that have positively impacted not only our club members, but our local community, our District 7430 along with internationally.
 
To name a few of Barabra's accomplishments as acting president of Hatboro Rotary, Barbara brought to our organization the international service project collecting items, preparing, packing and shipping Boodle Boxes to ship to overseas soldiers during the holidays to spread thanks and good cheer. Over the last few years our club members assemble these care packages with attention to detail and care to ensure our oversees soldiers are reminded how much we appreciate their hard work and sacrifices.
 
Barbara put forth incredible effort and her time to compile a procedure manual specific to Hatboro Rotary's Club. Her time and energy working alongside our club members to obtain our procedures was no small task. After receiving all of the individual procedures, Barabra compiled what is now an incredibly detailed live working copy of our procedures for our current and future club members.
 
The most recent impact Barbara has had on our club and our local Hatboro Community is the current project underway on York Road in Hatboro. Barbara put a lot of effort to bring to our community the Hatboro Bridge Mural on York Road near Concordence Ferments. There were detailed steps that had to be approved in order to make this happen and we are proud to announce that the bridge mural is currently underway and will be completed in the coming weeks. This mural not only represents our town's past, but excitement for what is ahead of us. The motto for the bridge mural is "Come for the past, stay for the future". Our club and community members could not be more excited for the beauty, history and education this mural possesses. 
 
Thank you to our 2024-2026 club President Barbara Rudakevych for your efforts leading our organization these last two years, we are so grateful that you joined our club and all of the wonderful additions you have brought to each of us and our community!
 

 


 
Meet the Artist Behind the Hatboro Bridge Murals!

Join the Rotary Club of Hatboro on Wednesday, June 17th from 5:00–6:30 PM at Concordance Ferments Brewpub (18 Horsham Rd, Hatboro) to meet Sarah Fogg, the talented Pennsylvania muralist creating TWO stunning 81-foot historical murals on both sides of York Road Bridge!
Come hear Sarah’s vision firsthand, ask questions, and learn about the project’s connection to Hatboro-Horsham students. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. Mingle with neighbors and celebrate art that will shape our community for generations.

This is a free, open-to-the-public event — all are welcome! 

🙌Rotarian Spotlight- Tom, Our Next Rotary President!

May 2026

For the past 14 years, Tom has been a dedicated member of the Hatboro Rotary community after being invited to a meeting by fellow Rotarian Gary. Since then, he has built lasting friendships and become an active participant in many of the club’s service projects and events. Tom especially enjoys hands-on volunteer opportunities like HatPacks, where members come together to directly support local children and families. He also looks forward each year to the club’s beloved Lobster Pot event, one of his favorite Rotary traditions.
 
What Tom values most about Rotary is the people he has met and the relationships he has built over the years. Outside of Rotary, he enjoys staying active through exercise and golf, cheering on Penn State Nittany Lions football as a season ticket holder, and spending time supporting whatever activities his daughters are involved in. As Tom prepares to become our club’s next Rotary President, we are grateful for his leadership, dedication, and continued commitment to serving our community. Thank you, Tom, for everything you have done — and everything you are going to do — to help our club grow, serve, and thrive.

A special thank you to Bill from the Millbrook Society for sharing his incredible knowledge, photos, and stories about Hatboro’s historic buildings with Hatboro Rotary.

As we continue researching the beautiful and meaningful landmarks that help tell Hatboro’s story, Bill’s insight has been invaluable in helping us select the historic buildings that will be featured in our upcoming Hatboro Bridge Mural.

Preserving and celebrating our town’s history is such an important part of strengthening our community, and we are grateful for those who help keep those stories alive.

Packing Hope with Hatboro HatPacks!

Members of Hatboro Rotary had the privilege of partnering with Hatboro Hat Packs for a hands-on service project packing snack bags for local students in need.

Hatboro Hat Packs is a wonderful community organization dedicated to helping food-insecure students by providing weekend meals and snacks so children have nourishment when school meals aren’t available. Their work ensures that students in our community can focus on learning and growing without the added worry of hunger.

We are incredibly grateful to Hat Packs for the compassion, dedication, and impact they bring to Hatboro every single week. Supporting children and families in our community is work that truly matters, and we are proud to be a small part of it.

What a night at the Hatboro Borough Ball! Several Hatboro Rotarians enjoyed a fantastic evening, and we had extra reason to celebrate — our very own Linda was awarded the Hatboro Chamber of Commerce Service to the Community Award, recognizing those whose distinguished service has enhanced the quality of life in our borough. This recognition is a reflection of the countless ways Linda has given back to our borough. Congratulations to Linda- we are SO proud!  👏🏆 

📚✨Little Laundromat Library in Hatboro

Hatboro Rotary is making reading accessible for every family—bringing children’s books right to where you are, at our local laundromat! 🧺

While the wash cycle runs, little ones can pick up a book, get lost in a story, and keep their love of reading spinning. 📖💫

Early literacy matters—and not every family has easy access to books at home.  By placing children’s books where families already spend time, we’re helping make reading a natural, everyday moment for every child in our community.

Thanks to Hatboro Laundromat for supporting the little library!  Thanks to the Hatboro Library and the Laundromat Library League for helping us keep a steady supply of books readily available for children to enjoy!  💙

Packing Hope for Local Families

✨Rotarian Spotlight:  Katrina!✨
February 2026
Katrina has been a dedicated member of Hatboro Rotary since 2007. She was first introduced to the club by Rotarian member, Jesse, at just the right moment—after stepping away from her work with Habitat for Humanity and looking for a new way to give back to the community. Rotary provided the perfect opportunity to continue serving others.
 
One of Katrina’s most memorable Rotary experiences was helping lead the effort to build the annex for the special needs gymnastics space at the old Hatboro YMCA. The club raised $30,000 for the project, creating a meaningful and much-needed improvement for the program and the families it serves.
 
She especially enjoys participating in Meals on Wheels, valuing the chance to connect directly with community members and see firsthand the tangible impact of Rotary’s service and donations.
 
Katrina appreciates working alongside like-minded people who share a commitment to making the world a better place. Outside of Rotary, she is a real estate agent and investor. The oldest of four, she is a proud aunt to 11 nieces and nephews. In her free time, she enjoys playing pickleball, reading, gardening, and exploring her passion for architecture and interior design.
 
We are grateful for Katrina’s continued dedication, generosity, and heart for service—thank you, Katrina, for all you do to strengthen our community and exemplify Service Above Self.💙

New Year’s Greetings from the Rotary Club of Hatboro

The Rotary Club of Hatboro extends warm wishes to our Hatboro community for a healthy and successful New Year.

During the 2024-2025 Rotary year, our club proudly reinvested 77% of our net fundraising income directly back into the Hatboro community.  The remaining funds supported veterans and community organizations beyond Hatboro as well as global humanitarian efforts, including ShelterBox disaster relief and Rotary’s PolioPlus initiative.  

Guided by Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self, we supported a wide range of local schools, youth programs, food pantries, public safety organizations and community services.

Our community contributions benefited students at Hatboro-Horsham High School, Keith Valley Middle School, and Crooked Billet Elementary.  We also supported local Boy Scouts, Hatboro Little League, BuxMont Meals on Wheels, HatPacks, local food pantries, and Hatboro’s fire and emergency response organizations, among others.

These efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to meeting local needs and strengthening the community we call home.  We value our continued partnership with the Borough and local organizations and look forward to serving Hatboro in the year ahead.

Who knew Hatboro Rotarians could be so competitive?  😀 Our club enjoyed a fantastic holiday party at Concordance Ferments, filled with great company, tasty food & drinks, and a white elephant gift exchange that turned surprisingly spirited.  There were a few bold steals, lots of laughter, and some playful rivalries that showed Rotarians have a competitive streak—especially when a great gift is involved!

The room was full of holiday cheer, good humor, and warm fellowship.  It was a wonderful reminder that while we’re united by service, we also love coming together to laugh, celebrate, and enjoy one another’s company.  Thanks to Concordance Ferments for hosting a fun night!  🎁🍻

Nourishing Our Community, One Meal at a Time

We are so grateful to Joe from Bux-Mont Meals on Wheels for taking the time to speak with our club and share the heart behind this incredible organization.  Hearing how Meals on Wheels brings not just nourishing meals, but also care, dignity, and connection to our neighbors was truly inspiring.

🎁 Holiday Boodle Boxes Headed to Korea! 🇺🇸✨

November 2025

This week, the Hatboro Rotary teamed up with the Horsham Rotary to spread a little cheer across the globe.  Together, we packed 20 holiday care packages, our festive “Boodle Boxes”, for soldiers stationed in Korea. Our mission is to let those who serve our country know they’re not forgotten, especially when they’re far from families during the holiday season.  The boxes were filled with treats and special cards written by elementary students and the Interact students at Hatboro-Horsham High School.  

Thank you to everyone who helped make this project so meaningful.  It’s amazing what we can accomplish when our Rotary families work together.  

 

Hatboro Rotary Honors Our Veterans

This Veterans Day, we proudly recognize and thank the members of the Rotary Club of Hatboro who have served our nation with dedication and courage.

Frank

Served in the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet from 1953 to 1956.

Tom F.

Served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971 as a Sergeant (E-5) with the 1st Cavalry Division Air Mobile. Stationed at Phuoc Vinh Combat Base in Vietnam, he worked as a helicopter repair technician on Huey gunships.

Tom P.

Served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971 as a Hospital Corpsman and X-ray Technologist, achieving the rank of Petty Officer Second Class (E-5). He was stationed at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital and aboard the USS Shenandoah, with deployments throughout the Mediterranean.

Barbara

Served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1994, completing a distinguished 27-year career in military nursing. She served as Director of Nursing at several bases worldwide and retired with the rank of Captain.

Mike

Served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, including reconnaissance missions in Vietnam, where he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. He flew the F-4 Phantom across multiple international posts and retired as a Major in 1987.


We thank these members for their service to our country and for continuing to embody Rotary’s spirit of “Service Above Self” through their work in our community.


 

🌟Rotarian Spotlight- Meet Marty!

November 2025

When it comes to community spirit, Marty truly embodies what Rotary is all about.  He joined Hatboro Rotary in 2018 after completing a four-year term on Borough Council, ready to keep making a difference.  “I wanted to give back to the local community and finally had the time to do it,” he says—and he’s been doing just that ever since!

For Marty, the best part of Rotary is connecting with others who share his passion for service.  His favorite project, The Lobster Pot, perfectly captures that spirit.  “It’s such a fun night that brings the whole community together—and nearly every Rotarian pitches in to make it happen!”

Marty also enjoys hearing about the incredible work Rotary does around the world.  “It’s inspiring to see how much impact we have, both locally and globally.”

Outside of Rotary, Mary stays active and adventurous.  A lifelong sports fan turned dedicated runner, he’s tackled everything from 5Ks to marathons.  He’s also the proud owner of a classic car and loves spending time at cruise nights and car shows, swapping stories with fellow car enthusiasts.  When he’s looking to unwind, you’ll find him in the Poconos with his family—boating, hiking, and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.

Hatboro Rotary Honors Patsy Meck with Inaugural People of Action Award

October 2025

The Rotary Club of Hatboro proudly recognizes Patsy Meck as the recipient of its first-ever People of Action Award, honoring her outstanding service and lasting contributions to the Hatboro community.  She was also named an honorary Paul Harris Fellow, one of Rotary’s highest recognitions for those who exemplify the motto “Service Above Self.”

A lifelong Hatboro resident, Patsy co-founded H.A.T. Packs in 2018 to fight food insecurity among local students.  What began as a small initiative serving 16 children has grown into a nonprofit that now provides over 330 Hatboro-Horsham students and siblings with nutritious weekend meals each week.

“Patsy’s commitment to meeting the ongoing needs of our community makes her an obvious choice as our first ‘Person of Action’” said Rotarian Russ Fairlie.  “She truly personifies Rotary’s spirit of service.”

In addition to her community work, Patsy is a retired autistic support paraprofessional and a lifelong performer who has appeared in several major films, including Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.

The Rotary Club of Hatboro congratulates Patsy for her inspiring leadership and unwavering commitment to making Hatboro a stronger, more caring community.

Maternal Wellness Center goes beyond traditional perinatal care by focusing on both the emotional and physical needs of parents.  Their team knows that when moms feel supported and informed, birth and postpartum outcomes improve—and parents and children thrive.  💜

Maternal wellness is an area of focus for Rotary International and our club is so grateful for the maternal care that Lindsay and the Center bring to our community every day. ✨🌼

The Rotary Club of Hatboro proudly presented a check to Ken Davidson, Assistant Chief of the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad, to help purchase a new E-Bike for their growing fleet!  

These E-bikes are a game-changer—allowing EMS teams to respond faster and more efficiently to emergencies during crowded local events like the Hatboro Holiday Parade and the Car Show.

Fueling a Bright Future!

The Hatboro Rotary Club is proud to present this year’s Vo-Tech Scholarship Award to Brady Brzowski, a recent graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School and the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology, where he studied automotive technology. 

Brady stood out for his strong work ethic, technical skills and commitment to learning- qualities that will serve him well as he begins the next chapter of his journey at the University of Pittsburgh, where he plans to study Mechanical Engineering.

We’re excited to support Brady’s future and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make in the field of engineering.  

Spreading Sunshine, Sharing Hope

The Rotary Club of Hatboro was deeply honored to meet Jen Reath, the inspiring founder of Hayley’s Sunshine Foundation, and to present a donation in support of her beautiful mission.


Hayley’s Sunshine brings light and hope to children who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Through “Sunshine Boxes” filled with comforting resources and thoughtful gifts, the foundation helps lift heavy hearts and bring moments of joy during the darkest times.

Congratulations to this year’s Hatboro Rotary Scholarship winner, Amy Park!

Amy is not only a top academic student at Hatboro-Horsham High School, but also serves as the dedicated President of Interact. Her leadership, service, and commitment to making a difference truly reflect the values of Rotary.

This fall, Amy will attend Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College to study chemical engineering. She’s already looking ahead to staying involved through Penn State’s Rotaract Club and other service opportunities on campus.

We are so proud of you, Amy, and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish!
