Friends of John Sweeney BenefitSave the date for the Beef and Beer on Sunday, May 3! There will be music, dancing, and general frivolity! There will be raffles! Door prizes! Food! Beverages! You know you want to be there and show John and his family your support—so here's the nitty-gritty: AboutJohn Sweeney is a physical therapist who, along with his wife, Gina, and their five children—Shannon, Colleen, Sean, Mary Kate, and Nora—is a longtime resident of Hatboro, Pa. His roots go back to Olney, Philadelphia, where he spent his formative years and attended Cardinal Dougherty High School, Class of 1978. He is a 1982 graduate of Temple University with a BS in physical therapy and a 1987 graduate of the University of Virginia with a master’s degree in Sports Medicine. He completed his clinical doctorate degree in physical therapy at Temple University in 2010.John’s dedication to the field of physical therapy stems from his own struggle with mobility issues since suffering a neck injury during his sophomore year of high school. After a series of medical procedures and grueling months of rehabilitation, John managed to return to Dougherty in his senior year, where he was elected as the class president. Upon his graduation, he matriculated into Temple University’s physical therapy program in an effort to help others struggling with physical issues that John himself experienced. In October 2014, John underwent spinal surgeries that have resulted in both physical and financial strains for his family. He is once again confronted with the arduous task of regaining his mobility and strength. Those of us who have witnessed John’s unrelenting efforts to regain and maintain his mobility over the years, and who know his great love of recreational sports, have the utmost admiration and respect for him, and are eager to help his family in any way possible. The Friends of John Sweeney is just that—a group of friends and relatives of the John Sweeney family who have gathered together in a collective effort to mitigate some of the financial burdens associated with John’s ongoing care and rehabilitation. John’s courage and selfless dedication have served to inspire all of us who have had the privilege to call him a friend. Gratefully yours, The Sweeney Benefit Committee |

Funny MoneySYNOPSIS: (Comedy) Henry picks up the wrong briefcase by mistake and finds it contains almost a million dollars! Realizing the owner of the briefcase was likely a criminal, he plans to flee the country with his wife immediately. However, the police arrive with unfortunate news- Henry is dead (or, a man with his briefcase was found dead). The arrival of an additional officer who suspects Henry of soliciting in the men’s bathroom, and a dangerous mafioso who is not afraid to kill again, leads to a series of hilarious mistaken identities in this raucous comedy. Camp Neidig was created by Joseph S. Neidig, governing officer of Rotary District 2654, in 1950. During his term as governing officer, Neidig founded the "Leaders of Tomorrow," a camp at Camp Delmont in Green Lane, Pennsylvania. The purpose of this camp was to further the leadership abilities of young boys. After District 2654 split in 1961, the newly-formed District 7430 decided to rename the camp "Camp Neidig" in honor of the camp's founder. In 1990, females were invited to camp for the first time, as Camp Neidig became a co-educational experience. Through 1994, the camp was held at Camp Conrad Weiser in Wernersville. Camp Manatawny near Boyertown then hosted the camp from 1995 through 2000. In 2001, Camp Neidig moved to the Pocono Valley Resort. Three years later, Neidig proudly returned to Camp Manatawny in 2004. |
